Flyfish Montana on the Boulder River near Big Timber with Fins and Feathers Guide Service. We have been outfitting Montana fly fishing trips on the fabled trout fishing waters near Bozeman since 2000.
This medium-sized freestone river flows north from the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness to its confluence with the Yellowstone River just east of Big Timber. It is a scenic waterway full of character and filled with Rainbow, Brown, and Cutthroat Trout that average between 10-14 inches.
Our Boulder River fishing season is very short as there is a narrow window - usually between late June and mid-July – when flows are ideal for floating. Limited public access ensures light angling pressure during this period when wading is nearly impossible.
"Amazing. Had at least 20 fish. Great time. We float every year with Toby and he is the best. Will always use fins and feathers for float trips."
- Briaa B.
